More Mistakes Follow Up

Having thought some more about the problem described in my last post, I flicked through some other posts on twitter. Lots of people used algebra like me and others also turned to Geogebra or Desmos to explore the scenario. I still didn't feel like I understood why this structure had such a neat solution.

However there were a few great posts that stood out and essentially showed the diagram below.

I have rotated the original to help me visualise the parallel lines.

I feel that this is another example where the use of algebra conceals the truth of the situation!
